Weekly photo challenge: Unusual

This week’s Weekly Photo Challenge theme is “Unusual”.

I’ve seen all sorts of unusual buildings – but this is definitely one of the strangest.

I don’t know what it is (does anyone recognize it?) – I only saw it from a distance. All I can really tell you is that it’s in Copenhagen!

  6. Very unusual! At first glance, it looked like only half of a building, but I see now that it’s a spiral. Interesting, that’s for sure.

  7. This is the tower of Vor Frelser Kirke in København. It’s a church. Build in 1750. Architect Lauritz de Thurah.

  14. Fascinating architecture for the 1700’s, looks like a long climb to the top, I too thought it was only half a building, as if they had only enough money for the front half. 🙂

    • Copenhagen is a beautiful city – see it if you get the chance. As for what the building is, Ink.[Anette] posted a comment telling us that it’s the Vor Frelser Kirke (Our Savior Church) – well, not the whole church, but this is the (very unusual) spire. So at last I know!

  20. Off to google it – it looks fascinating…
