And then there are sights that have been artfully pared down to simplify what we see.
Just about to enter the Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia. Inside? Almost the opposite of this image; room after room crowded with art, mostly French Impressionists. I never realized how many, many, many pictures Renoir painted until we toured the Barnes last summer.
But the history of the Barnes and its founder is much too complicated to explain here.
