Weekly Photo Challenge: Near and Far

This time, the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge is an exercise in perspective – showing both near and far in one composition.

So I chose a picture with a pair of nearby trees to anchor the image, but with the most striking object – the falls – in the middle distance, and beyond that, hill after hill receding into blurry blues.

Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
– not to be confused with THE Grand Canyon,
which is in Arizona and was carved out by the Colorado River.
I took this when we visited Yellowstone in August of 2003.
